Several BSOD in XP SP3

Hello!

I must say that this forum is very helpful and it's given me very useful tips to fix some of my PC problems!

I've been having several BSOD in the past two weeks with different codes each time. these are some of the codes I've got:

0x24
0x50 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA)
0x0A (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)
0x8e (This is the new one. Kaspersky Antivirus was updating when I lunched IE7, then the BS appeared).

I've had others but I had enabled "automatically restart".

Each time I tried to troubleshoot and thought I fixed it. But a new BS came after some days with a different code. This is a 3 weeks old fresh windows install.

All system drivers are up to date.

Mini dumps can be found here:

willynanita.googlepages.com/MINIDUMPS.zip

(I tried to attached the zip file with all the mini dumps but it had 282KB. I just attached the latest one)

Thanks for any help!

Willy.

System details:

Yes I have Kaspersky. In fact, when the BS occurred Kaspersky was updating and I opened IE 7, then came the BS.

I've scanned my computer a couple of times (even when the very first BS appeared) and the results were negative.

Maybe the minidumps could help.

Thanks.

sounds like your Kaspersky update has coursed your problem. you could try system restore to before last Kaspersky update. then see if your computer is ok.

bobm is right your file points to klif.sys which is Kaspersky. Try what was advice above if not remove and see if it goes away if it does then try a different AV

I will try that but have you looked at the other minidumps? I've been having a lot of BS with different codes all the time. And almost everytime is a cold boot, but sometimes I'm doing nothing...

Thanks!

Your files are pointing to hardware problem try this below are some links to test your hard drive and ram they are both iso burn the image onto a cd then boot off them for DFT do a advance test and for memtest let it run for at least 7 passes. When DFT is finish it will give you a code post it here EX:0x72

DFT:

memtest:

Memtest gave me an unexpected interrupt - Halting after the first pass. I attached a screen shot.

Haven't run DFT yet.

ok so you have 2 sticks of ram. remove one and see if the problem still happens if so try the other ram to see if the problem still happens also when you run DFT post the code

But first try this version of memtest to see if it does not freeze also check your mother board for any bulged capacitors

Thanks xxdanielxx!

Memtest worked fine this time and I got like 68 errors.

TST 3 PASS 0 FAILING ADD 00000100020-1.0MB GOOD 80808080 BAD 80808000 ERRBITS 00000080 COUNT CHAN 24

TST 4 PASS 0 FAILING ADD 00000032BB0-0.1MB GOOD 32B85FDA BAD 32B85F5A ERRBITS 00000080 COUNT CHAN 1

TST 7 PASS 0 FAILING ADD 00000100020-1.0MB GOOD 192175CD BAD 1921754D ERRBITS 00000080 COUNT CHAN 40

TST 8 PASS 0 FAILING ADD 00000080810-0.0MB GOOD 9ADB728D BAD 9ADB720B ERRBITS 00000080 COUNT CHAN 3

I guess I have a bad ram? How do I know which one is? I haven't got the BS since my first post.

Regards,
Willy.

You can take one out and see if it crashes if not then the one you took out is bad. Or you can put 1 stick of ram and run memtest if it does not crash then the other stick is bad.
