Old (RAID) archives?

By their nature, archives hold old stuff - but today, I found myself responding to posts under 'storage' that go back to 2002, the most recent being dated 2007. No doubt a lot of older material can be useful to newcomers like myself but it made me wonder, what's the policy on how long you keep posts viewable?

This has been discussed before, with the "Solved" option (even if it's a week old)
But the ending result was that all posts are open forever! (except some have been closed by moderators)
This is so anyone with new information can add to them if required.

Yes you must be diligent in checking dates before replying (it does happen often) Usually another support member will bring to attention that the post is very old, and all's ok.

Understood. Thanks for the explanation though.
