BIOS updates are normaly published to overcome a problem with the mobo, like e.g. a non-working USB-port, or for adding features to the mobo, like providing for faster CPU's or different memory-types.
Your motherboard manufacturer will have (if any) BIOS-updates on his web-site (look for Support). He will also supply you with full instructions on HOW to do it. Some mobo's let you "flash" your BIOS under Windows, others require you to make a bootable floppy, copy the BIOS-files on that floppy and then boot from floppy for it to work. Very important: NEVER interrupt your PC when it is being flashed, only use the specific BIOS-update for your exact type of mobo, don't use the BIOS from another manufacturer. Before you flash the BIOS, read first what the update contains: if it does not solve any issues you have with your mobo, DON'T flash unnecessarily. I have to agree, yet again, with Didou on that one...I have some horror stories about BIOS flashes that didn't NEED to be done...if it 'aint broke, don't fix it...
