Any recommendations for temp monitoring?

Hi all,
i just replaced my single core amd 3400+ with a duel core x2 4200+ and loving the creamy goodness of multi core computing, anyway does anyone have any recommendations for a monitoring software? I have speedfan,HWMonitor(by cpuid) and sandra. im getting quit the range of readings. secondly and probably a stupid question, but do the amd X2's run hotter than the athlon 64 single cores? when I replaced the single core i also changed from the stock HS and fan to a Zalman cnps 7000cu and its still a couple of degrees warmer. any input would be appreciated-

Thanks

There are some issues with Temp reporting
I don't believe you could ever get it truly accurate, unless you attach a temp gauge to the underneath of the CPU Heatsink

I use CoreTemp but its better suited for Intel cpu's not rubbishy AMD's
The latest version will work though.
Also, quite a few AMD based boards have some temp software included with them.
MSI's offering is 'Dual Core Center'

core temp works well, along with anything that isnt speedfan. speedfan is 10-12c lower than any of the rest and my bios reading, but in reading other threads that seems to be the norm. just tryin to keep my "rubbishy AMD" cool Jacko

Thanks for the input folks

the bios readings are accurate at the time they are taken but by the time a computer boots they are incorrect.
