Screen problem

Hey all,
Im new to this forum and I got a problem.

I got a computer with the following specs:
An onboard graphic card,
Windows XP Pro installed.
1 GB RAM.
There is no use for more information on the computer, I know that the problem is in the graphic/screen category.

The problem goes like this the monitor works doing POST and the windows boot process that goes on doing the windows logo loading bar screen. But after that the monitor goes black and displays the message “No Signal”, the computer continues to boot but no screen image.
The same this happens when I start windows in VGA mode or Failsafe mode.

Has anyone ever had that problem, or a solution to it?

Thanks in advance.
Martin

Yes

Go to Safe Mode
Then click on Start->Run-> Devmgmt.msc
Locate your Display adaptor
Expand it +
Right click on the expanded Video device
Then uninstall your actual video adaptor device

Then restart normally

Ok, try CheckDisk

If you can't get into Safe Mode you can run CheckDisk on a command line using your bootable Xp CD, and the command: chkdsk volume:/f, and then press ENTER (substituting your volume name to the Drive letter ie C )
More info here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

If you don't have your Xp CD, try one of these free CDs

Ultimate Boot CD

XP Recovery Console

Failing that it will require a Repair of Windows still using your Windows CD (your key will also be required)
