BSOD error after sleep mode

Hellow,
I'm new here and have a irritating problem.
(I'm from Belgium so excuse me if my english isn't fine)
What happens?

so, I want to use the sleep mode in vista ultimate 32 bit. After I clicked the sleep button I get a black screen. My screen turns off, but my computer stays on. After a while I hear my 8800 GT going crazy (the fan) than I have two options.
a) my computer reboots with an BSOD and than shows an error report
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 2067

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 124
BCP1: 00000000
BCP2: 855AC3F0
BCP3: B2000040
BCP4: 00000800
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini102808-01.dmp
C:\Windows\Temp\WER-20919-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Windows\Temp\WER8AA2.tmp.version.txt

b) he goes back to the log on screen where he keeps hanging. I have to press the restart button. The computer restarts without BSOD.

hope you guys can help me

This error is caused by a fatal hardware error. You could do two things:

1. Run Memtest on your RAM and run a full harddrive diagnostics.

OR

2. Disable Sleep Mode. This has worked for some. Try this first and tell us if this brings stability.

yes, this helps. But I don't have any use of it, I would like to use sleep mode.
Its not that my computer crashes at one moment. No, only when I press the sleep button.

This is a Vista issue for many people. I am fairly certain that if you go to the MS Forums for Vista you will find a solution.

will check it, thx

Something has changed. I recently formatted the pc because I will go to a LAN party with some friends. I tried the sleepmode. I don't get a BSOD. It just turns my screen off and than the fan of my VGA goes wild, after that I get the Log-on screen and I can just continue working, no errors at all.

what to do what to do?
