Vista Blue Screen

My one year old Dell XPS PC, running Vista Home Premium, keeps
crashing, invariably when I am away from it. I've run
self-diagnostic hardware tests, and all reported OK. Using a
utility, I ensured all my drivers were updated but this did
not solve my problem.

I've tried using the Dell system recover utilising their back up
file stored on a different partition, but this refuses to work.

To avoid re-installing Vista and "losing" all my data, I hope that
someone can analyse recent crash dump files (attached) and advise
where the problem lies.

Thanks

System specs
Minidump 110307-01
BUGCHECK_STR: 0xA
Probably caused by : ntkrpamp.exe
PROCESS_NAME: Azureus.exe

Cause
This bug check is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high. The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.

ntkrpamp.exe is a core file system driver which is trying to write to memory which either does not exist or it does not have access. This type of error is usually due to an underlying hardware problem such as faulty ram, overheating or disk issues.

Possible solution

you will want to run memtest on your RAM, it can be gotten from www.memtest.org Get the iso version and burn it to a CD with your favorite burning software then with the disc in the drive restart your computer...make sure your computer is set to boot the cd drive first so the cd will boot and work. Let it run for a minimum of 7 passes. Note: There are several tests performed per pass.

Also, you will want to run a hard disk checking utility that you should be able to get from your hard disk manufacturers website.

After doing the above stated please post back and let us know the findings and we can go from there.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I have downloaded "Memtest" and created a boot cd. However,
when I attempt to use it I get an error message:

I/O card parity interrupt at 0801:5B7B

Type (S)hut off NMI
(R)eboot
other keys to continue

Pressing any key has no effect.

I will run Dell's own hardware tests again which are available
as a choice on startup to see if any problems are revealed.

Nothing I tried worked, so in desparation I have re-installed Vista.

So far, no crashes so I guess I had a software problem.
