im revieving this error repeatidly:
rasctrs

The description for Event ID ( 2001 ) in Source ( rasctrs ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: The event log file is corrupt..

what does this mean and how can i fix it?




oh, and its under the application log....

I was having this error. The MS article is about rebooting, but mine was being caused by a different reason. Routing and Remote access was configured but the service was disabled since we do not use it. It seems that having it configured was the problem.

Go to Computer Mgmt > Services and Apps
Right click on Routing and Remote services and click disable.

You can also get there by going to routing and remote services in the admin tools.

Note# I am not talking about the Routing and Remote Access service but rather the configuration manager.
