• Stop 0x7F messages are typically due to defective, malfunctioning, or failed memory hardware. If you added new hardware recently, remove and replace it to determine if it is causing or contributing to the problem. Run diagnostics software ...
We recommend Memtest... Use this http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524.html • Running the CPU beyond the rated specification, known as "overclocking," can cause Stop 0x7F or other error messages due to heat buildup. When diagnosing problems on overclocked systems, first restore all clock and bus speed settings to the manufacturer recommended values to determine if this resolves the issues. You might find Everest to be helpful for monitoring your system heat... http://www.techspot.com/downloads/43...e-edition.html • The problem might also be due to cracks, scratched traces, or defective components on the motherboard. If all else fails, take the system motherboard to a repair facility for diagnostic testing. Not likely, in your case, since the problem only began with this game. • Stop 0x7F messages can occur after installing incompatible applications, drivers, or system services. Contact the software manufacturer about possible Windows XP specific updates. Using updated software is especially important for backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, and CD mastering tools. Let me offer a bit of commentary about the last of the bulletted items above... You have downloaded this software. Downloaded software is notoriously "buggy". Furthermore, you have the question of piracy... (is this warez/cracked software?) If so that is your problem! Furthermore, in the process of getting it, or in the process of installing it, you may have exposed yourself to Malware... THEREFORE... I would strongly recommend a visit to the Virus and Malware removal board. http://www.techspot.com/vb/menu28.html Start with the three "stickies" by Julio at the top of the page. If you decide to try to clean your system, start with the http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html and follow them diligently. If you have difficulties, of if you find malware, post an new thread in that forum. You should also make sure that your Windows OS is fully updated, and that your drivers are updated. Sometimes a game will use an old driver incorrectly, resulting in this kind of problem. |
