Likely the culprit is another driver on your system which cannot be identified. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 57 crash dumps have been found on your computer. Only 40 have been analyzed. Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is really responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further. |

To do more, we would actually need for you to attach a few of your most recent minidump files.
You could zip several together into one zip file, for ease of uploading and downloading. ======= symefa.sys is your norton software... You are not alone with this kind of issue. 1. Are you fully updated? (All MS XP Updates... SP3 plus several since, and also your drivers) 2. Are you overclocking? If so, reset and see if that resolves the issues. 3. Have you checked your memory? Use Memtest, Here http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524.html 4. Are you running only ONE AV product? Is it possible that you have remnants of an old av still on the system? 5. After downloading a free AV like Avira or Avast, both available here on Techspot. AND download the Norton removal tool from their website! Then go offline, try uninstalling Norton, install new package and run full scan. Go back on line and update, and scan again. If any malware if found, go to the Virus and Malware removal board, and begin here... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html - After looking more closely at your "WhoCrashed" Reports - 6 instances of symefa.sys - 0x1000000A (0xFFFEC080, 0x2, 0x1, 0x806EE2DC) See my previous comments... Usually caused by faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS. If you encounter this bug check while upgrading to a later version of Windows, this error might be caused by a device driver, a system service, a virus scanner, or a backup tool that is incompatible with the new version. In this case, you should try updating Windows without your av, and after disabling 3d party drivers. ======= 1 instance of ntfs.sys - 0x24 (0x1902FE, 0xF6068A84, 0xF6068780, 0x8051A4B0) Start the Chkdsk tool, which detects and attempts to resolve file system structural corruption. At the command prompt type: chkdsk drive: /f Also... You may need more ram! ======= 20 instances of ntoskrnl.exe- 0x1000000A (0xFFFE4080, 0x2, 0x1, 0x806EE2DC) See above on your Norton driver... ntoskrnl is unlikely to be the real source of your problem. It is more likely to be another driver. This may relate to your Norton Issues! ======= 0x100000D1(12), 0x1000008E (1), caused by ohci1394.sys, ntoskrnl.exe, usbport.sys These USB & 1394 adapter errors have not recurred since April. I do not think they are relevant to your current issues. Last edited by B00kWyrm; 07-03-2009 at 05:56 PM.. Reason: after looking more closely at your "WhoCrashed" Reports |

The HP 720n has had a lot of early crashes of the hard drive...
You might save the drive so as to rescue the data, and insert then install another drive, using your HP disks... then get back to us with what is going one. |
