Problems with Asus P5N E-SLI
Hello All,
I am using Asus P5N E-SLI motherboard from past 2 years. Recently I am experiencing BIOS problems. The System is not booting properly. I get a long beep indicating that it failed to detect RAM. But when i shuffle the RAM for many times, it will start. Not sure the problems is with RAM slots. Initially I was using Partriot Extreme 2X1 GB RAM (4-4-4-12). I replaced it with Transcend 2GB 800 Mhz RAM. But the problem still persists. Infact it is increasing day by day and I am not able to boot the system properly. My Config is as follows, Processor - Core2Duo E4500 Mother Board - Asus P5n E-SLI RAM - Transcend 800Mhz 2GB HDD - Seagate 1TB 7200.12 + Seagate 250 GB Video Card - XFX 8800GT 512 MB Extreme PSU - Cooler Master 600w Extreme Kindly suggest. |

Try flashing the BIOS to a newer version. The motherboard manual should explain how to do so. Another thing that might help is using canned air to clean out the RAM slots of any dust that may have accumulated in them.
I have a very similar motherboard to yours (I'm running a P5N32-E SLI) and my motherboard is also about 2 years old. I had problems with my RAM a while back and flashing the BIOS/cleaning out the memory slots solved them for me. |
