Here's a 3 options

Press F8 at startup, and then select "Last Known Good Configuration"

--------

You could try running CheckDisk in Windows, or Checkdisk from the Recovery Console

Running Checkdisk from your Windows CD bootup:
  • Select the first R prompt, to log into the recovery console
  • Press 1 then Enter
  • Then type: chkdsk /r then press enter

--------

You can also run System Restore from XP Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Once in the Recovery Console, just change directory to Windows\system32 folder and enter rstrui.exe
ie Press enter after each of the following commands in the Safe Mode
CHDIR Windows
CHDIR System32
CHDIR Restore
RSTRUI

Once finished, then Restart

Ideally let me know if any worked or not

Step 1. Last Known Good Configuration

When I select this method, I receive the same BSOD.

Step 2 - Check Disk

I d/l UBCD4Win and ran a chekdsk on the harddrive and no errors were reported. I also ran a memory scan and no errors were reported.

Step 3 - System Restore from Safe Mode C:

When I select Safe Mode I receive the same BSOD screen.

So do you have data requiring backup?
Because its not looking great
Here's a guide that will help with that: How to recover your folders/files when Windows won’t boot

Actually you could still do a Repair of Windows. A Repair does not remove data or programs.

Back to step 3 in the original reply.

I booted into recovery mode and performed the chkdsk. It found and fixed several errors. Rebooted and received same BSOD.

Then I tried to do a restore. However when i do a directory listing in the restore folder, it shows the file RSTRUI.EXE but when I type it in to run the file it tells me "Command is not recognized". Whats the deal with that?

Thanks,
Todd

RSTRUI.EXE (System Restore) cannot be run from the Recovery Console, or outside Windows
Only Safe Mode with Command Prompt (or Normal Mode obviously)
You need to change directory to the Restore folder though

No luck. I cant get into any type of safe mode, even command prompt. However, I was able to load Knoppix and it will allow me to access my files. Do you know if Knoppix has a network function? I can transfer all of my files to another computer, which would save me a ton of time.

Thanks
