Compaq 7400 laptop no front LED indicator lights
Compaq Armada 7400 with Win2K OS
Yes, the same laptop with the previous DIAGS partition problem - that was solved! Thanks. Now ... It wasn't in use for a few weeks. Then started it up - no front LED indicator lights - sudden shutdowns - battery not charging - replaced battery - charging fine but still no front LED lights and occasional sudden shutdowns. Any ideas? Mary |

"and occasional sudden shutdowns"...
Does this mean that the computer boot into Windows at times even with the panel lights off? |

I usually can boot to Windows - sometimes the shutdown happens during the boot sequence.

Thanks -
Switched back to an older and smaller HDD - no change, so I will see if getting the memory tested helps. Appreciate the help and will let you know what happens when I have a chance to take the laptop in for the memory check. Mary |

Okay Mary,
testing the memory may not be enough. You may have to swap it out |

Will ask my long-suffering tech guy to see what he can do with switching out the memory ...
