I think they are doing this, because they know they will just pirate the software anyway, and why not get a 'little' money out of them...

I think the more important reason is to keep the customers in Windows instead of letting them buy cheap Linux machines.

Microsoft should start doing this for other developing countries to compete with piracy.

i wonder if that "slimmed win XP" has more holes then norm win XP(if thats possible) if so we'll see how long it takes them to find the holes.

and rick what about the african nations where 50% of the population doesnt get ANY yearly income?
