1. Sell computer (250 tops if you're lucky)
2. Save more money, (about 200)
3. Buy a decent 700 dollar machine
4 ?????
5. Profit!

Lmao, sorry.

Basically, you're better off selling your current machine and saving a bit more and buying a nice barebone.

BUT, if you really wanna upgrade your current machine, you could look for a new video card, like a 9600gt-9800gt and perhaps more RAM. It sounds like you have a nice motherboard, but a somewhat old processor, and if you'd like to upgrade processor, you'd basically have to upgrade a lot more. Can you find out what kind of cpu socket your motherboard uses?

And what exactly do you like to do on your computer? Gaming? Basic computing?

Can you get a model on the mother board? Is it GA-73VM-S2?

Do you play current games or older ones?

If older generation, a p4 at 3ghz should do okay, but you really need a video card and more ram to support it.

Depending on the socket, you might be able to upgrade the processor, to maybe a duo or quad, which go from $150 to $200.

If it's a 775 socket, which i'm pretty sure it is, you can go and look for some core 2 duos which are pretty cheap nowadays. Unless you rather get a new video card. Or maybe even both.

Um, instead of posting multiple computers for sale (seeming there's a quadzillion of them )
Just post the link (to eBay, or Dell or where-ever they come from)

Anyway, so the Topic title is now, what newer computer I can buy?
How much do you want to spend?

For about $600 - $700 you can build yourself a very nice gaming rig. Let us know if you'll DIY.

I can see where Ritwik is coming from, Computers are only as fast as the Slowest Component.

The Rig looks great besides the Processor, so I'd have to agree with Ritwik there.

Something in the Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad Line, I just checked the CPU Support list, the max you can go with a Core 2 Duo is the E8600, the max for the Core 2 Quad is the Q9650.

The Motherboard also supports the Core 2 Extreme line, I don't know the Prices on those tho.

Core 2 Duo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Core%202%20Duo

Core 2 Quad http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...name=Quad-Core

Please Note that the Links I've provided are just so you can get the Prices of the Processors themselves, I'm not too Savvy with Intel, if it was AMD, it'd be a different Story. =)
