Yes having installed:
Quote:
Norton 360
Spyware Doctor (PC Tools)
Spybot-S&D
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010
Can do that

You can only have one Antivirus installed at a time, otherwise anything could happen
I would suggest to uninstall the lot (programs as quoted above)
Then run the Norton Removal Tool: http://www.symantec.com/norton/suppo...080411113806EN
Restart

Then try a less resourced Antivirus like: Free Avira
Then run through this guide: UPDATED 8-step Viruses/Spyware/Malware Preliminary Removal Instructions

Pretty sure all will be 99% ok from doing this

Having too many at once could cause problems. Happened to me once

Also, according to HijackThis, you have 3 nasty files.
  • R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local;
  • O2 - BHO: Ask.com Toolbar BHO - {D4027C7F-154A-4066-A1AD-4243D8127440} - C:\Program Files\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dl
  • O3 - Toolbar: Ask.com Toolbar - {D4027C7F-154A-4066-A1AD-4243D8127440} - C:\Program Files\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dll

Start up HijackThis again and go to System Scan Only, then check those off.

He needs to run through the 8-Step guide first (if infected), otherwise Malware can do all sorts of things
Actually he needs to uninstall all those programs first if you ask me (seeming I would)

It may take a couple (or more) hours, due to a full scan with Avira (plus all the rest)

i always got stuck on the process where the product key is involved.
*gosh i was looking on it moments ago but i cant remember it now*
so i used revo uninstaller for it and the moment i uninstalled Norton and Kaspersky
*i uninstalled them the same time*
i was happy with the results.
my pc became fast:P
but now im off to finish the 8 steps and ill be uploading the attachments here later because the scans are still going on.

thanks for your help.

Manual Steps To Remove Norton:

Registry keys to delete:
HKEY_Current User\Software\Symantec

HKEY_Local Machine\Software\Symantec

HKEY_User\.default\ Software\symantec

HKEY_Local Machine\Software \Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Uninstall\Symxxx

Files to be deleted from C drive
Some files in the C drive might be hidden. To unhide the files, go to Tools>Folder Option, select ‘View’ tab , under advanced settings select “Show hidden files and folders”. Click on Apply and then Ok.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec *

C:\Program Files\Norton

C:\Program Files\Symantec

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec shared

* In Windows Vista, instead of C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec, there is Program Data\Symantec.

If you are unable to delete any files, restart the computer and log in to Safe Mode with Networking and try deleting the files from there.

Tasks:
Go to Control Panel Tasks, and remove any NortonSymantec Task

----------------------------------

I hope this helps

Yes "SymNRT" is part of Norton

The other one may require Safe Mode after a Restart

Malwarebytes should only be a quick scan

You know most (99%) of Users start with the 3 logs at Post#1
We are presently at Post#16, with logs coming soon

I'm starting to think that this may be too difficult to get to the end

i have removed those using hijackthis.
i have used the fix it tool.
the combofix too but there is a problem in regards to using combofix.
i have finished the scanning, and when retrieving the log, it it made my pc hung and i cant do anything ive waited for it for an hour and its still as it is.
i have restarted my pc and when i tried to scan again with combofix to retrieve the log, it still does hung in a random point of time in the scanning section.

by that case, i couldn't retrieve the combofix log.
