CRT monitor correct resolutions

I have a KDS Xtreme Flat , everest reports 17inches, and pcwizard 16inches , however i was just told that 1280x1024 4:3 is not a real resolution, but 1280x1024 5:3 is, or using crt i shouldn't use 1280x1024, rather i should use 1600x1200, however i don't see a option for 1600x1200?

you can only use what your video card and monitor support...

LCD's will always have an "optimal" or "native" resolution which will display the best results. If this is non-standard setting sometimes your video card may not support it. Your KDS CRT monitor will display 1280x1024 MAX resolution which is typical for 17" CRT's
