Help me buy new cooler for TbredB!

I have TbredB 2200+@2000mhz and Spire WhisperRock II cooler. At summer time it's temp. raises at cca 58°C so I was wondering if there's any new cooler which would keep temp at max 55°C, but that cooler must not exceed 20$. Cause I plan to do more OC of CPU in near future, it would be nice that cooler could keep 55°C at least at 2100mhz and all the time that it's noise wold be lover than 30db
Sugestions?

Do you have case fans? it may jus be the "Hot" air is just sticking around inside your case,,try to bring "Ambiant" temps down,,your CPU temps will follow. other than that,i would go Thermal Take Silent boost or, one of the volcano's, i have also heard the Zelmans work well.

Good luck.

well, yes, hot air IS sticking inside my case, alltrough it is allways open and when I put cooling fan blowing right inside the case, temp lowers at 53°C... but i want new cooler
So, is Igloo 2520 worth of buying? Pro version is 10db louder than "normal" 2520 (35db) which is a bit too high (it will soon be 40db and that is pretty noisy)

When you say you want to spend around $20, are you referring to US Dollars? (confused by your location). Where are you getting the parts from? As this will make a difference to what HSF you can get for $20.

If "Zagreb, Croatia" is in america, I have a friend that can ship a SLK900 (one of the best heatsinks ever) to you for $25 flat

No, "Zagreb, Croatia" is in east Europe, capital city of state which is first neighbour of Bosnia (there was a war few years ago, anyone?). Anywayz, we have pretty much the same prices as u do in US, but offer of hardware is much worse, and by $ i've ment US$ (u can count in € if u like, its same to me )
So, i hoped that u would recommend me some "mainstream brand" coolers like Glacialtech, Spire, Tt and so which's price dont exceed 20$.
By the way, SLK900 is model of which brand?

Zagreb, Croatia in America... hehe

The SLK-900 is a HS from Thermalright. Very high performance all copper heatsinks. I've owned the SK-6, SLK-800 and the SLK-948U for Athlon 64. All great performance and the SLK-800 with a fan at 2000rpm kept my Athlon 2100+ Tbred B ~52C loaded at 2Ghz with 166fsb.

The ALX-800 which is an aluminium based versioni of the SLK-800 is about £20 here in the UK (~ $/€40) so I think their series of heatsinks is outside of your budget (unless you can find a second hand one somewhere).

Why don't you list which heatsinks you can get in Croatia within your budget and we will let you know what the best one you can get is. Its hard for me to estimate costs there because of the high UK prices of online retailers.

Arris, listing of all coolers which i can buy would be pretty big job to make! We have here allmost every brand u can think of, but for example we dont have something like Sythe Kamikaza cooler (seen it on tomshardvare.com on Q1 2004 test of coolers).
Anywayz, as I said, all brands r in the choice if they r big manufactorers, particulary now Igloo 2520 has stuck in my eye... Now, 2520pro has 35db and i cant imagine is that so loud cause my WhisperRock II had 21db when it was new and it was very quiet, so I was intrested which would u pick: 2520 or pro?

IMO the Glacial Tech Igloo coolers are no better than stock HSF, i used on on my P4 and temps ran higher that with Stock HSF,,just think about this,,simply, your get what you pay for.
Again , IMO i would spend a few extra $$ to be sure my CPU stays cool.
