Perhaps some details like WHAT modem you use would be helpful... What kernel, what particular RHL you use (version number) and in what environment you're having trouble ( a shell? Which shell? What dialup program? X-Win?)

i dont completely know or understand al those terms you mentioned as i know nothing about linux but i'll do my best.
maybe the following might mean somewthing? red hat linux version 9 x-window i'm using the basic connection wizard(modem connection) my modem is a lucent win modem |
