I just added a MSI R4650 video card into my MSI motherboard so that I can connect my PC to my Onkyo receiver via HDMI. I have picture but no sound and have googled and read posts for about 4 hours now and nothing has helped. I want sound through my HDMI and my cable is good as I tried it with my DVD player and all was good. Looks like the sound should automatically play through the HDMI but it doesn't. I don't know what my default sound device should be, but it says "Realtek HD audio output" in the control panel as my default device and nothing else is available. Man something so simple and 4 hours later I'm still not watching tv. Someone please help.

Are you sure you installed the drivers correctly?..

what's your Motherboard?

Maybe the latest driver for your MSI R4650 is needed.

i have the newest drivers already and I've done the live update also.

do I need to have sp3 in order for the drivers to work/load?

Hey I solved the problem. Uninstalled my existing audio drivers and then installed Realtek HDMI audio drivers from their website and BOOM! High Def Sound through my Onkyo. Sweet, thanks for help.
