HELP!!! usb flash drive emergency!!
my friend was using her laptop [winXP] with the usb 60m flash drive inserted.
while the laptop ran out of battery and automatically shutted down, the usb flash was not unplugged. but when she turns on the computer again, the files in the flash drive dissappeared. but the properties showed that 20mb is used and 40mb free. she had tried on other computers but it's the same result. can anyone help please?? thank you very much!!!!!!!!! |

Unfortunately, I've had way too much experience in this sort of thing lately , but it doesn't sound as if you've been through format hell. I've found freeware ( 's ; have saved me or taught me things which I couldn't have found out otherwise) which has been able to recover really nicely, everything intact. There's PCInspector File Recovery http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pcinspector.html Also Disk Investigator http://www.theabsolute.net/sware/dskinv.html just to name a few. Good Luck! [/Color] |

@taronder: This is probably a subject for a new thread, but I can try to help out a little. I'm assuming you use Windows XP
Well, if you don't have any special setup, then it should be almost as easy as plugging it in. 1: Plug it in. 2: Browse to it with Windows Explorer (It should show up in My Computer as a "Removable Disk"). 3: Find files you want to delete. 4: Press the "Delete" key. If that didn't help (i have a hunch it didn't) then try making a new thread, with a bit more detail if possible. |
