Newegg has a Asus 24x DVD Burner-Bulk 24x DVD+/- R Black Sata-oem on sale for $18.99 free shipping.
Good deal,or should I be leery? because it's so cheap?

Would this be a burner/player? or just a burner? Is it so cheap because it does not have Blue-Ray capabilities? Thanks Ray

Optical media is an older technology, and it's very inexpensive to make DVD burners nowadays. The Optiarc one I bought was only 22 dollars, that was in 2008, it still works great so you should be fine.

I recommend buying it. :)

Yep, I wouldn't worry about it. $20 is about the going rate for a standard DVD burner.

By the way, welcome back Obi-Wan, I haven't seen you around in quite a while.

Agree with the above. Nothing wrong with that burner. It will allow you to play dvds too, but you can't play/read blurays.

Thanks all..Since $20.00 is about the going rate. I don't have to worry about buying one from Newegg before the sale is over Ray
