The team page is HERE.

Just click on Join & you're good to go.

PS. You should wait for the page to update to show up in the list, it's not updated real-time.

Welcome aboard!

The more the merrier, and maybe we'll be the lucky group to find us some ET's...

If we do, what should we call them? "TechSpotians" could be one solution, though not sure how glad Julio'd be about that if they turned out to be hostile.....

I don't want to find ET. I like the ones in Mars Attacks.

"Can't we all just ... get along ?"

I'm thinking "Juliotians" will be the next big catch-phrase.

LoL...

I seem to recall from when I was running SETI at such a box that it took closer to 20 hours to complete one block.... Or am I way off base?

Juliotians... Well, it has a certain ring to it... And it excludes us from bad press if they turn out ot be hostile... Doesn't sound bad to me...

Maybe we should get Julio's okay before we "dub" it official, eh? He might get a tad annoyed with us. :giddy: :knock:

Yeah, that might be a good idea...

Anyways, I don't think we'll need to come up with a name right now anyways...
AFAIK SETI hasn't found much yet...

But one could allways be surprised...

Yeh it takes 19-20 hours on that machine to do a unit.

Nice to know my memory isn't as bad as I thought...
(And it's bloody hard to find a place which sells quality upgrades too...!)

You'll also have a nice average time for each workunit then... But at least you'll rack up cpu time donated

Guys, is there a thread in here that explains the whole SETI@HOME/distributed computing thing? I understand the basics of how it works, but I've been giving it some consideration and I'd like to know what all it involves. Thanks in advance.

I don't think we've got such a thread on this forum...

It goes a bit above what we concentrate on imo, but it's an interesting topic...

I suggest you that you google around a bit, and check out this site...
It's what got me started on DC in the first place...

The team page is updated a few times a day, sometimes under heavy traffic only once a day. Your personal statistics are updated a little more often & can been seen at -> http://setiathome2.ssl.berkeley.edu/...in/fcgi?email=youremail%40provider&cmd=user_stats_new

Change youremail%40provider with your Email ( do not replace %40 with @, it will not work ) & you'll see your own results.

PS. Or simply go there & enter your Email at the bottom -> http://setiathome2.ssl.berkeley.edu/account_area.html
