Following the steps given before installing SP2, I installed the free version of Ad-aware SE, build 1.05. I run the utilitiy, but keep reaching a point where my computer reboots. Prior to rebooting a window apprears stating that: "Windows must restart because RPC service was terminated unexpectedly."

I'm hesitant to install SP2 in my computer, if I'm having this trouble with Ad-aware. My OS is Windows XP, Home edition.

Would anyone know why this is happening with Ad-aware & how I can solve this problem?

Boot into safe mode, and try and run the adaware scan from there.

Also go HERE and follow the instructions carefully. print them out if you can.

Once you have done that, go HERE for instructions on how to post your Hijackthis log.
