USB Modem Power issues

Hi,
Ive recently ordered broadband as it has only just got to my area, ive got a Sagem USB modem and ive set up all filters etc etc.

However when i came to install the modem onto the PC, the lights flash on the modem and the computer shows the 'add new hardware' icon in the bottom right corner, for around 5 seconds then the hardware disconnect noise sounds and the lights turn off on the Modem,

Do you think that its a power issue with the USB ports, if so how could i fix it?

ive installed the modem on my laptop to make sure that it works properly and the modem works perfectly fine, so it must be something to do with the USB ports, My printer is a USB printer and it works fine with the USb ports.

Any ideas welcome,
Thanks in advance
Ben

some usb devices require too much power from the chanel. Just get an
independent power source from Radio Shack. The manual w/modem will
document the voltage and current requirements.
