It means it's using Win2k's builtin OpenGL driver which, as you can see, doesn't have many functions. You need better driver for your card. Try looking from Trident Microsystems, Inc.

The trident card may simply not function well in open GL games I had a friend that had the same problem. his only remedy was to get a cheap geforce 2 card.

What kind of laptop is it? Which brand?

Maybe the manufacturer has a driver listed...

Ah, it's a laptop, no wonder...

The problem is that your dear Trident is not a 3D Accelerator , and iss' point about the getting of a GF2 kind of proves this...the GF2 is a 3D Accelerator

Or it could be that you don't have the latest drivers, and all that is just ill-conceived mumbo-jumbo.

I have known a few folks that purchased trident blade or tnt2 based cards which claimed to support open GL but they never could get them to work on the newer open GL based games like JK2. they would get the same error message that fuk is getting.

I dont know for sure but I would suspect that their claim to support open GL is based on support for the older open GL standard and not the latest one which all the newer games are coded for.

I don't think you can change your graphic card on a laptop as easilly as on a desktop. Often the card is integrated to the mainboard which means changing laptops wouldn't be the only way to get a new VGA card.
