Windows Explorer alternative

I recently installed some software, which was designed for windows 98. It works fine BUT, it's made the tabs at the bottom contain only one letter. Heres a screeny to accompany my terrible description

This only seems to affect programs related to IE in some way, which is fine cos I use firefox. However, windows exlorer which I use all the time also has the one letter bug, so can anyone recomend a program to replace windows explorer? Thanks.

Get your hands on Powerdesk

Check if there is an XP-version of that program (what is it anyway?).
