Stop 0x000007E but no event log or minidump
Hello,
I bought a new computer and sometimes when Windows XP Pro is starting a blue screen with Stop 0x000007E appears. What itīs strange is that after the next reboot, no mini/full dump is created, no event log 1001 or 1003 is created, and no window saying that Windows has recovered from a severe error. I checked my options in tab Advanced and i have the "write a event log" ticked, restart automatically not ticked and i have the option to write a full memory dump. Do anyone here knows why is not writing the event log or a dump file ? Can you help me ? Thank you in advance. |

Hi,
When windows encounter severe hardware problem, the hardware error triggers the reboot. It bypass the windows error handling. If you press the hardware reset button, do you expect windows will write system event and takes the minidumps. Unix servers or Mainframe computer will force a dump even the reset button is pressed. I hope the next version of windows can implement this feature and it can help us to diagnostic hung up problem. The hardware problem may be overheat, faulty ram, cpu, power supply unit or motherboard. |
