PC crashes & restarts randomly
Heres the the thing.
My computer has.... 2.4 ASUS processor nvidia geforce fx 5700 graphics card creative labs soudblaster audigy sound card 64 speed dvd rom However My problem is that everything just shuts down randomly. And i mean EVERYTHING i had to restart this twice!!!. Internet explorer shuts down with errors, games and software you name it. I get blue screens of death usually containing.. *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005,0xBF800F52,0xB97D2A38,0x00000000) *** win32k.sys - Address BF800F52 base at BF800000, DateStamp 43446a58 I get generic errors, windows 32 system errors, .bin errors the works (ive also hasd a few kernel errors). In regards to fixing it ive done every virus scan known to man. ive formatted the thing twice but it still wont work. Im no einstein when it comes to computers and other than start adjusting the BIOS or buying an ew computer im flummaxed. PLEASE help me. i just dunno what to do p.s. dunno if this matters but on running a dxdiag from the run command, under the display tab it says at the bottom... The file nv4_disp.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer. not quite sure what this means but i HAVE fully updated my graphic drivers!?!?! Have you checked if all fans work properly, and the processor doesn't overheat?
Random reboots / stop errors could also be caused by incompatible or broken memory modules (or ones running over their rated speed). The WHQL message doesn't really matter, in my opinion. But you could try another driver too. Does it reboot randomly in safe mode too? |

No i havent tried this i will do so this evening.
Is it possible for random reboots to be associated with RAM memory? thanks again |

Hi,
The crash may be caused by faulty ram or device driver error. The system event log and the minidump has the most useful diagnostic information. When Windows crashes with blue screen, it writes a system event 1001 or 1003 and a minidump to the folder \windows\minidump Check system event 1001 and 1003 and it has the content of the blue screen. Event ID: 1001 Source: Save Dump Description: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was : 0xc000000a (0xe1270188, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804032100). Microsoft Windows..... A dump was saved in: ....... Event Source: System Error Event Category: (102) Event ID: 1003 Description: Error code 1000007f, parameter1 0000000d, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000 Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001/1003. Copy the content and paste it back here Zip 5 to 6 minidumps to a zip file and attach it here. Techspot has an upper limit of 100K per attachment. I will study the dump and find out the culprit. |
