BSoD on clean install of XPpro
Alright, so I'm trying to make a clean install of XPpro from a boot cd onto a slave ATA drive. During the installation I got a stop error. the file associated was this.
kbdhid.sys address F78AEA14 base at F78AEA14 Datestamp 00000000 there wasn't a minidump in the usual location, as this was an installation, but if there is a place it would be stored during this operation, let me know where to get it. what I would like to do is install the OS on my Slave for a dual boot. I'm not sure if the install disc is messed up, causing the corrupt file or what. Thanks in advance for your help, and let me know if there is anything here I forgot to mention. here is my config: Mainboard : ASUSTeK Computer INC. A7V600-X Chipset : VIA KT600 Processor : AMD Athlon XP @ 2154 MHz Physical Memory : 1536 MB DIMM 1 (RAS 0, RAS 1) : 2048 (Double Bank) - DIMM, SDRAM DIMM 2 (RAS 2, RAS 3) : 1024 (Double Bank) - DIMM, SDRAM Video Card : ATI Technologies Inc Radeon 9250 (RV280) Hard Disk : Slave: WDC WD800BB-00CAA1 (80 GB) Hard Disk : Master: WDC WD800JB-00JJA0 (80 GB) Hard Disk : External USB: WDC WD800BB-75DKA0 (80 GB) SCSI : SATA: ST330083 (300 GB) SCSI : SATA: WDC WD80 (80 GB) DVD-Rom Recorder : _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG CDR, CDR-W, DVD-R (48x ) (48x ) Network Card : VT82C570 MV IDE Controller VT6102 Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Professionnal 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2 on WDC WD800JB-00JJA0 EDIT: A couple things I wanted to add is that I have Norton Ghost 9, and Norton SysWorks 5.0. Also, as this is a keyboard related file, I am using a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse Last edited by musikgoat; 12-02-2005 at 07:06 AM.. |
