What PSUs are compatible with my computer?

Hey everyone, I have been planning on upgrading my PSU for sometime but now with my new Graphics card I really want a new one. But I have a problem. I have an eMachine T3256 and I don't know what types are compatible with it. I have looked on the website but they dont tell me anything. Thanks for any comments.

Any of these should work with your computer, so go through all of them until you find the one thats right for you.

Well, that bestec PSU is a standard ATX psu, so I'd say it is safe to assume that it will fit in your case. The only part I am worried about is whether or not emachines is using any proprietary motherboard connections. I just did a bit of googling, and the best info I could find said that the "newer" emachines can use standard ATX psus no problem, but no specific info on your particular model.

I'd go to their live chat: http://www.emachines.com/support/options.html and ask them directly to be sure.

Assuming a standard ATX will work, here is a great one for $40. It has over 30amps on the 12v rails, and 400w of juice which will be PLENTY for your system:

Ok well I know that the one you showed me is compatible with a 20 and 24 pin connection in the mobo. But what I am worried about is if it will fit. My PsU is right above the CPU fan and it looks like I would have to unscrew it to remove the PSU. Any ideas, or suggestions?

You should be able to loosen the mounting screws from the outside, and slide it out (after you disconnected everything inside)
It's the box on the top/left.
Standard PSU size by the looks of it

Ok thanks. Oh and by the way, does anybody have any ideas on how to keep track of where my connections were? As in putting them on a piece of paper or making a diagram.

If you really want to be certain you don't miss a thing, and want to do it right the first time, you could by some labels (stickers) and tag everything before you disconnect. Just a thought.
