reinstall the printer driver.
three ways:
1. Lexmark website >support>download>printer model etc
2. [my computer(right click)>properties>hardware tab>device manager>printers...>lexmark....>update drivers
3. Lexmark CD, reinstall.

confirm the printer is connected properly, ink levels ok, cables/power ok.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Disconnect the printer from your computer. I assume your printer is connected via usb?

If it is, uninstall your printer drivers etc from add remove programmes in your control panel. Reboot your computer.

Switch on your printer, but do not connect it to your computer yet.

Reinstall the printer drivers etc, from the cd that came with your printer and follow the instructions carefully. Only connect the printer to your computer when prompted to do so, or after the driver installation is completed.

See if that helps.

When the printer is switched on. Does it show up in your device manager? Look to see if there are any yellow exclamation or question marks, in your usb devices etc.

If it does, try uninstalling it from there, then follow the instructions above.

I don`t know what else it could be.

I know that Lexmark printers aren`t the most reliable. In fact a lot of guys around here, refer to them as good doorstops lol

Probably time to contact Lexmark me thinks.
