I have the same PNY 6200 GPU at 300 and you just can't overclock the thing - crashes when testing !

There is a 8500GT on EBay.co.uk and I've just come across one at Microdirect.co.uk - not sure if they ship to the U.S. ?

Sorry can't post link yet as I'm a newbie !

I've decided to get one and put the 6200 on EBay - I'll try and post some results when I get it !

Even using google NOT functions i.e -PCI-E, is not ideal as there may be genuine PCI-E cards listed on the same page. Ebay is also pretty sloppy here. You can browse cards by interface but most of the PCI cards are actually misclassified PCI-E cards

I agree - I've struggled finding PCI cards on EBay and anyway else do to the fact of everything pointing to the other types of cards

I picked up my 256MB 6200 PCI from Misco.co.uk - can't remember how I stumbled across it but got it for £39 all inc - and there's one on EBay going for £41 + £6 postage !

Awesome thread, for anyone with PCI slots only you are in luck, the X1550 256mb DDR2 diamond is AMAZING. I just got mine working, I can play BF2 on FULL SETTINGS, FEAR on FULL SETTINGS, and STALKER on FULL SETTINGS. I'm so happy. If you have PCI, get a x1550. People who say all PCI card's suck don't know what their talking about, and they don't realize how you don't need an ulta-fast memory bus to get good performance.

jives11 - sorry unable to respond to pm's as I haven't posted enough !

The 8500gt card arrived a few days ago but I'm working away from home.

Just hope it'll work in my age old Dell GX1 with a Slocket/Cel 1GHz !! (the 5200fx, 9250 and 6200 worked - just !)

Hi!
I hesitate between the X1550 (there is one to sell on ebay) and the 8500 GT.
What's your CPU to play on full?

The 8500GT has full offloading of HD video decoding, which is the only advantage it has over the X1550. I'm not sure about performance though, but it should at least be neck to neck with the X1550.

It's here, No need to be french to understand it.

P4C 2.4 + 1 Go DDR1 "et la redoutable" 8500GT PCI = 1617 à 3DMark2003 et 1900 à Virtual3DMarks.
