It may be faulty or misconfigured RAM. Is it a new build?

No, it's been up and running fine for 8 months or so and got de-fluffed a few weeks ago. A couple of days ago the PC came on with a Blue screen doing a checkdisk. It then started with the rebooting, when I looked in the event viewer there was a lot of warnings that a system startup driver "xprotector" had failed to load. I'd not downloaded this, couldn't see what used it so I deleted from device manager thinking that whatever used it would stop working, however it still does random reboots and everything appears to work. Usually in a game, any game. When I searched for xprotector in the registery there was a lot of references in folders headed Legacy.
