HELP !!need some advice on old + new pcs!!

im thinking of building a gaming pc(by buying something every week or 2) & would like some advice...my specs are: amd athlon 64 k8 newcastle 3000+ 1.6-2.4ghz, asrock k8upgrade vm800 socket 754 with 939 future port, Elixir 256 mb ddr400 pc3200 184 pin ram, 250gb samsung sp2504c 8mb hdd, 2x cd/dvd rewriters(1x dual layer), speeze hard drive cooler......im thinking of buying: asus m2n sli deluxe socket am2 nvidia nforce 570 sli mcp atx amd motherboard, amd athlon 64 x2 4600+ windsor 2000mhz ht 2x512kb l2 cache socket am2 dual core cpu,(PLEASE BEAR WITH ME) 2x corsair 2gb(2x1gb) 184 pin ddr400 pc3200 ram, 2x nvidia geforce 7600gt's in sli formation, creative soundblaster audigy2 zs 24bit sound card, 2x areocool vm-102 passive graphics card coolers, wd raptorx wd1500 ahfd 150gb 16mb hdd, 1x thermalright cpu cooler with 120mm fan, 2x noiseblocker nb-x swing for hdd, digital doc 5+ fan controller for upto 8 fans, thermaltake toughpower 750w psu with 6x sata hdd connectors 4x ata hdd connectors 2x pci express graphics card connectors, 1x gaming case to fit all the parts into....(ALMOST FINISHED)....the thing is, all i want a pc for is games + the internet...i want a pc capable of playing the latest games + next years + hopefully beyond(the one i have can only play the movies + hitman 2(JUST). it will probably cost me about £800 + i just want to know if this would be a good rig for games once it is built + if its worth shelling out that kind of money, if so i would give this pc to the kids + build my own. 1 last thing....someone said to me id probably be cheaper + better off getting a high speed single cpu, is this true? System specs
I'd avoid Asus motherboards like the plague. They're notorious for having problems. When they run good, they run great. When they don't run, you have a paperweight.

I've had several good MSI motherboards that always worked.

if using intel get intel board or supermicro
if amd find a good 1 year old board thats been updated I used to like abit
for amd how about DFI
I would dif look at 64 bit AMD boards
