Mid-Level PC
i was reading the mid-level pc guide and didnt like some things on it. just wanted to post and see what yall think about it and think if i should do it. thanks.

Case and CPU are fine. Without knowing more about the rest of your system or the actual PSU specs it's hard to comment. It *should* be fine, but chances are it's a cheap PSU.

these are the specs for the pc i read about under buying guides.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 - $340 or the other processor DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra D - $125 ATI Radeon X800 GTO 256MB - $175 Samsung SyncMaster 940B - $375 Audigy 2 Value - $35 Logitech X-530 5.1 Speakers - $50 1GB PC 4000 DDR - $125 Western Digital Caviar 250GB SE16 - $120 16x/6x DL DVD±RW - $50 Thermaltake VB1000SWS - $80 Enermax EG465P (430w PSU) - $45 Logitech MX700 Cordless combo - $65 so now what you guys think? |

Go for a Socket AM2 Based Processor and Motherboard and DDR2 RAM. You should find a similar price if not cheaper.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 - $340
price dropped hard on those, that now costs 169.99 or 179.99 check newegg.com |

Athlons are a good buy now, but I'm not sure you'll be better off with an X2 compared to the Conroe.
Price wise at this Processor range, yeah, you'll probably be better off with the AMD because of the price of Conroe motherboards. |
