Hello all, I find my computer crashing when I do certain things. First, when using dvd-rebuilder, and I now find the same error message (0x0000000A, plus the same "arguments")when I tried playing a few games ( such as rome: total war).
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a) An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually caused by drivers using improper addresses. If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace. Arguments: Arg1: d78a6eb0, memory referenced Arg2: 00000002, IRQL Arg3: 00000001, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation Arg4: 804ff1c3, address which referenced memory I do not know how to interpret the error dumps and need some help. I looked at the msft site, but had a hard time understanding everything. Here are some system specs. Windows XP SP2 AMD Athlon 64, 2400 MHz (12 x 200) 3700+ DFI NF4X Infinity (nVIDIA nForce4-4X) 1024 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT (256 MB) Creative SB X-Fi Sound Card Linksys Wireless-G PCI Network Adapter with SpeedBooster I boot off a scsi drive(QUANTUM ATLAS10K3) , and have 2 sata as storage. I also have real and virtual cd/dvd drives. These errors do not happen in normal usage, or with other disk heavy activities such as torrenting or newsgroups. Last edited by sunderland; 08-24-2006 at 06:36 PM.. |

I ran memtest for 8 hours and nothing showed up. If the 0xA bug means that a driver is responsible, I don't see a driver named in the dumps. I do see ntkrnlpa.exe, which would seem to be really bad. In any case, I do not seem to have a general system instability (yet); these bugs showed up in those specific cases (so far). If it's buggy drivers, that is just about any pci card these days. Is there anyone who can read these and let me know what they're saying?
