Fedora Core 5 on Sony Laptop

Hi all

I am a first timer here. I have a problem getting my Fedora core 5 to boot on my SONY VAIO FE28 laptop. It installs all the way without any problems and then when I reboot it shows the following messages before freezing and turning my screen red or green:

PCI : Failed to allocate mem resource #6: 20000@c 0000
INIT version 2.85 booting
Set time: ----OK
Starting Udev: _ (this is where it freezes, and the screen background turns red or green).

I noticed that it identifies my laptop screen as "Unknown" when starting the initial DVD boot.

Can anyone help.

Best Regards

Try booting with noacpi or noapic kernel options.

Is that during normal boot or during initial boot using the installation DVD? I am not sure how to specify kernel options during normal hard disk boot.
