Can't get help from Dell as i'm not the original owner
Not true, you just need to re-register as the new owner

This has been covered in this thread over and over many times
Please read previous posts, unless you want to pay double the cost.

Research a utility called Ophcrack. I've successfully used it on an Dell XPS M1530 and it revealed the Vista Ultimate password in 3 minutes 18 seconds. It doesn't crack or bypass the password; it just tells you what the passwords are.

Help needed get passed password authentication protection error

Hello all I am sorry if I dont do this right first timer. I been reading threads from Rustam and other and figure maybe someone can help and my computer is not a total lost. I brought a DELL Inspiron 8000 about 3 years ago from Ebay and have not ever had any major problems I couldnt fix myself. WHen my laptop is powered on it gives me the message This computer system, #3f6cc01-595B is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer w/o the correct password.

My service code is 3f6cc01 i have contacted Dell on several occassions but they are of no assistance I know Rustam enjoys to reads stories. My main story is this laptop is used for one of my disabled twins and right now I am between a rock and hard place because as a single parent of 5 I cant just afford to buy a new one in that case i would of purchased new not off ebay I just need the computer up ASAP and I dont have funds to pay someone hundreds of dollars unless last resort. Please help me and instruct me on what to do

Ophcrack works well... particularly the ISO versions... But turn off ALL firewalls and security... All of it... A bit easier if you are very familiar with how computers are built and software is setup. I recommend WXPP over WXPH for this job on WXP
Note also that there are very different versions for WXP and VISTA... do not confuse them.

You are legally allowed to own many laptops
Most corporate businesses own thousands at a time

I have some corrections:
Inspiron 600m and 700m does not like X300 use 5 digit code to make master password. It use 7digit service tag. Ask www.spunlock.com to get master password for any dell laptops and other brands as well. Spunlock is very first who start to fix dell password trouble so they should know well about all models of dell, including sophisticated -A95B type of service tag.

2 wulfcomp
Inspiron X300 really use phoenix 5-digit code to get password, as for [06235] password is 1113507

has same bios version!, x300 like dell 700m have a PHOENIX bios so the service tag number is simply 5digit tag number. you can ask here for further infos.

These two Dellīs donīt need an 75$ password from you.
Paperclip procedure works fine and free for 600 m and inspiron 2200, so plaese go away with your link.

glenreez should be advised not to post bad information without asking members to try all other sources first ie Dell support
Also asking for payment for service is against TechSpot's policies here.
He walks a thin line I believe
