Well ive tried everything i can think of... i just bought A package of games from bestbuy, which includes cs source, DOD Source, Hl Deathmatch, and some other games... i put them all on my computer and it all went smoothley with no errors... when i try to play them however.. the gameplay is verry choppy and the sound skips... its not internet lag because it happens on on an offline game also.. My comp can run CS CZ and it has for along time.. no problems at all.... i try to contact steampowered but there technical support is ****.. dose ne1 have any sugestions... if you do, plz let me know...

Pleas post your system specs, including the make, watts and 12v line amps for your powersupply. That may help us get an idea of what is going on.

Okay, everything is much more clear now! Your Gateway system is using an Integrated graphics chip. That, of course, means that it is physically built into your motherboard.
To play the games you bought, you will need a better graphics card for sure. You are proabably looking at a GeForce 6600 and above to play those games. The good news is that you have an open PCIe 16x slot open for a new graphic card. The bad news is that in pre-builts (Gateway, Dell, HP, etc...) they usually don't put in very strong power supply units. You can get a decent 400 watt one from Newegg.com for about $40. Another thing to think about but isn't quite as necessary as the graphic card and power supply is your system memory. 512 is fairly low to play the more advanced games. !Gb is kind of the standard right now.

EDIT: You may not need that new psu. I was looking ion the gateway site and saw that your computer comes with a 300watt psu. Depending on how many amps it supplies on the 12v line, you may not need a new one. If you go without and you start getting random BSOD or restarts, then you need more power.

Yes, that card will play CS: Source, and it will be better than what you have now. But... you won't be able to play at high resolutions. The real limiting factor is we don't know your budget. I also found that video card here for 82.99.

That memory won't work because it is DDR2 533 (PC 4200) and your system uses DDR 400 (PC 3200).

EDIT: If you can afford it and can wait for it to be shipped, this would work really well.
