dantrag> yeah that is true with the sayings part. it is apparent that test is culturally biased and geared towards americans.

if anyone is wondering, i took the test and i got 136. it said,

We also compared your answers with others who have taken the test. According to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Visionary Philosopher.

This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.
it is too bad my teachers did not know that.

JSR, I know you'll make me regret this, but I just had to say it, I live in Arkansas, bordering Missouri, and we call it Missouri.

A very nice place.

To tell you the truth I know quite a few people that live in Saint Louis, and they can't wait to get out of here. I don' see what the big deal is though, it is a great town and Missouri is a great state. I love it.

I think we have the best sports city as well

Perhaps we all just missed much of the same questions. Perhaps it just takes a certain type of person to be interested in what we all are? Perhaps we all think in much the same way?

I scored 129 on the online IQ Test. I previously scored 132 on a certified IQ Test when I was 11 years old so this seems to be in line with that.

Hello & Welcome to TechSpot

I wouldn't put too much faith in these scores, since the tests are only aproximations of the real tests.

But nice of you to join us here

I just looked at my profile & it's only 1/2 filled in. No wonder I felt a little incomplete today. Better remedy this. I should have no trouble. My IQ test says I'm a "Word Warrior" LOL

Some of us took the one FOX TV did last year, or maybe it was the year before. Forgot what I made but I'm pretty sure it was between 135 and 145, as thats usually the range I score in on IQ tests.

I don't place much stock in IQ scores anyway, its not an accurate measure of anything really, and is only designed to measure your ability to learn, not how much you know.

Strange, isn't ones ability to learn a fair description of intelligence? Knowledge is not intelligence, because we all have the ability to accumulate knowledge, and some with photographic memories are not always able to solve tough intellectual challenges (I've met a few like that). Someone that fills-in crosswords on a regular basis will be good at word games, and someone that plays darts will be good at mental arithmetic. Is this intelligence? I don't think so.

Most of the tests I've seen do in fact test knowledge, rather than the ability to learn. Someone that has studied mathematics is more likely to get the maths questions correct than someone that hasn't. Intelligence is genetic and you cannot turn a dumb person into an Einstien. So, how do you measure intelligence?

Impossible as far as I am aware, otherwise it would be reasonable to expect someone that is more intelligent than myself (for example) to always score higher in any intellectual challenge. I don't think such a person exists, and ultimately there are a very large number of very intelligent people around, some of whom may not do so well on IQ tests (although I wouldn't expect them to do badly either).

thats kind of what I was pointing out in my statement Nic. The tests seem to measure "what you know" when they are supposed to be measuring your "ability to learn"

LOL!!!!

score: 131

Your Intellectual Type is Facts Curator. This means you are highly intelligent and have picked up an impressive and unique collection of facts and figures over the years. You've got a remarkable vocabulary and exceptional math skills — which puts you in the same class as brainiacs like Bill Gates. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Bill gates acctually took this test??
