oblivion actually runs fine maxxed out no AA on my HD3650m so a 4830 might be ok for his resolution, or you could buy an 9800gt for as little as £90 which is not bad

A 4670 is better than a 3850 and it doesn't require a PCIe power connection.

Because of the greater bandwidth, the HD 3850 performs a lot better at higher resolutions (AA notwithstanding). Other than that they perform on par, with the HD 4670 usually taking the lead and being better when it comes to power consumption and heat output. Also, the HD 4670's lead becomes even larger when you enable AA, due to the broken AA implementation on the HD 38xx cards.

The 4670 also scales well in overclocking, in some cases even surpassing the 8800GT.

Thanks for the info guys. I have decided after much research to go with this card. HIS Hightech H467QT512P Radeon HD 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card. It appears to be exactly what I am looking for as far as performance, noise, heat, and cost, without having to also install a new PSU.

Hi kinkyvinyl (cool name BTW),
Welcome to TechSpot!![]() As for your query, nope, you will need some new hardware, specifically a new graphics card. |

Hi, i have a question about video card.
Currently, i have installed a game called Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock After the installation, the game wont start because it said : "This game does not support your video card" Please check the system requirement. Then i check it, it require; (i) PC Minimum System Requirements Operating System: Windows XP (Service Pack 2), Windows Vista CPU: Intel Pentium D (Dual-core) 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Memory: XP - 1 GB RAM, Vista – 2 GB RAM Hard Drive: 5.1 GB free hard drive space + 1 GB Swap File Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card Video Card: 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required – 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 128 MB Video Memory (see supported list) Video Card (ATI): Radeon X800 Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 7600 Disc Drive: 4x DVD-ROM drive required to install and play Internet: Online multiplayer (Internet TCP/IP) requires a broadband connection Peripherals: Windows 2000/XP compatible mouse and keyboard with the latest drivers, Guitar Hero 3 Official PC Guitar Controller But then i check my video card through dxdiag: Operating system : Windows vista System Model : Acer Aspire 4920 Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750@2.00GHz Memory: 3062MB RAM Display Adapter: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family Approx total memory : 358 MB So, according to my video card, it should be better then the minimum requirement. Why i cant still play it? or do i have to install a new video card? |

It's not better. Intel onboard graphics are horrible. You're probably gonna have to get a new card.

Hi everyone! I'm very new to the whole computer hardware thing, so I have a couple questions.
I want to play World of Warcraft, I'm currently playing it with about 3-5fps on my integrated graphics card which is just awful. Can you guys recommend a good video card to play WoW at around 20-25fps? Here's my system specs from dxdiag, I have no idea what's useful and what's not, so I'll just post most of it. Also, I have a PCI slot comp, so I know that hampers my gameplay and card choice severely. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 7/6/2009, 10:25:29 Machine name: E58AEB3F9A6342E Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.090206-1233) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061 System Model: RC658AA-ABA a1630n BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz Memory: 1982MB RAM Page File: 1076MB used, 2798MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found. @magemofo, you have a PCI-Express slot free, and can buy any PCI-E card you wish to. You may need to upgrade your PSU for a more powerful card though. The HD 4670 is a decent card that does not need a power connector (and hence eliminates the need for you to buy a new PSU) and can perform well at any resolution upto 1440x900
For more information, here is a link to your motherboard specs. You do have an HP dekstop right? |

Hey guys i have made a decision. I am going to keep to my word and not move on to pcie cards until pci cards officially die or it seems like it has die for good. So i plan to use PCI cards for the next few years to come. My next card to buy: Not really sure, most likely its going to be the albatron 8600gt. or whatever i see first when i go video card shopping.
Yea forget pcie cards right now, when pci official die for good, then i will move on. peace |
