Problems with Firefox 2
I have lately had a couple of problems with firefox. When I try to open a page at a secure site I have been using for years I get an ! error message:
The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. the unsecured homepage of the site is available as is the secure page if I use IE as the browser. There is no network problem. Nor have the firewalls (soft and hard) been changed from when the program did not have the problem The second problem may be related, when I am sites I have accessed for years, especially sites that have graphics, the connect stalls (i.e., the progress bar below the page stops downloading one or two bars before completion, and just hangs up there. Some times it, after a long time, completes the download of the page, more often it just freezes. A reload command sometimes will allow completion of the load. Any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Silverback |
