yes, the discontinued 40 GB PS3 doesn't play PS2 games and all PS3's play PS1 games.

i think the ps3 is cool

we know that bluray is the best for movies
but games work different

the only thing i have against it is the price
but their was a nice price drop recently and i am hoping for a few more

I have GT5 prologue, motorstorm, and resistance. They're pretty good but you'll probably want to get the 2nd motorstorm and resistance, and GT5 is the prologue of the upcoming full version .

I hope 2009 will be a great year for the PS3, as there are many good titles coming out. What do you think about the upcoming Heavy Rain?

Well I liked Fahrenheit, so hopefully I'll like Heavy Rain. The visuals look quite impressive, I haven't really seen all that much gameplay. I'll look into it more as more information is released.

Resident Evil 5
If you love Resident Evil 4, you will most likely love this. The controls annoyed me in a few situations but other than that this game seems great. The visuals are quite good, a few odd things happen when you kill zombies, mainly clipping issues, but this is a demo which upon starting reminds you that it has not been taken from the final build, so these things may not be apparent in the final build.

Killzone 2
My oh my, this game is truly amazing. Everything ,the visuals, the gameplay, the visuals, the sound, the everything. Even the half arsed voice acting is good, in a macho-violent-bad **** kind of way. The visuals really are truly amazing, something you have to experience yourself.
If you consider yourself a fan of the original or a fan of FPS games in general I shouldn't have to tell you to download this. My only complaints are that the demo seemed way too short and I would have liked it to include at least one section where you use the SIXAXIS (apart from the loading screen) as I find the ways they've been implemented rather intruiging. Good work Guerilla, have a beer on me, you deserve it.

I'm downloading Resident Evil 5 and Killzone 2. But killzone is pending because RE5 is first on the list. When is Heavy Rain going to be released???

Have you guys seen the official God of War III trailer, it looks jaw droping, seriously I wish they haven't moved the release date until 1q 2010, but that game is going to be awesome, in the meanwhile RE5 and Killzone2 will keep me busy until Uncharted 2 is released, then GOW 3

God of War and Killzone 2 both look pretty unreal. God of War on the PSP was great, so lets hope the game play on the PS3 is as good or better.

I am in the same boat as you,i bought my PS3 for GT5,and to the guy that said it's expensive it's only about $100 more than when the PS2 came out and it's a much better machine than the PS2.

Of course its better than the ps2, its 10 years later
