Yes its better I'm just curious how we can buy a blue ray player for less than 200usd. And the other parts for the ps3 cost almost 150 usd total.

Its a good system, dont get me wrong, but mine is sittin her collecting dust.

You could say the same for the PS2(DVD) and the PS1(CD).

I like PS3, its more reliable than my 360, (that just destroyed my HALO 3, I just got the new Maps,) I think this weill be the year for the PS3, but recently I have clocked more time playing Gears and Halo pn my 360. I only really play House of the dead 1+2 on the WII and have been playing COD4 and GTA4 on PS3. (MS got the exclusive DLC for GTA4 thats another think that has bugged me)

If you are really into gaming then you need all 3 consoles for the exclusives. Xbox: gears +Halo, WII: Well all nintendo games. PS3: Killzone ETC.
And of cource PC: you got services Like Steam. Also The Sims, flight similators, and games that just won't run/work on consoles.

All in all, you could easily spend £1000+ Gaming each year, my most recent PC upgrade cost £500. If you want budget, go 360, if you want family go WII if you want handheld: DSi/ PSP if you want to be able to play all games, or want a blueray player go PS3. Its simple. (I don't own a HDTV Yet but still have a PS3) +My PS3 was free with my mobile (cell phone) contract.

This is my opinion.

True, it's a multi-media machine. I don't like it when poeple call it expensive. If it wasn't expensive, it wouldn't be as good would it. I.e. If they took blu-ray out, game developers wouldn't have the ability to add more, in HD.

apparently they regret ever putting blue ray on it , blue ray hasn't really taken of not in the uk anyway and due to the blue ray components in the ps3 being expensive to manufacture sony can't really do a price cut of any great significance , and I read blue ray is mainly being pushed because it is difficult to pirate compared to general dvd

I'm happy the PS3 has Blu-ray, because future games will have more content and also i can watch movies in 1080P . It makes sense aswell because the PS1 had CD, then with PS2 they went to DVD, and now with PS3 they're going to Blu-ray.
