Screen Goes Black

I am having trouble with my monitor going black at random and staying that way for only a few seconds. It seems it does it more often when I am running multimedia programs. Below is some info on my computer. I think it may be a cooling problem, but then what do I know. Any thoughts as to why?

System specs
such a slow CPU may have a hard time keeping up with software.
