What's the proper way to remove an item from startup?

I usually use the program called RegCleaner and remove the registry entry for a startup item, is this the correct way or not?
 
If you mean your using RegClean`s start up utility,that`s fine.

You can also go Start/Run/type :msconfig/OK/look for "Startup" tab.
