PC <> Laptop synchronization

Hey all,

I'm about to recieve a fairly old toshiba satellite. This will be my frist ever laptop!!! (yay).

I already own a very old Packard Bell - Very slow.

I intend to use my Laptop as follows:

@ Work/Travelling: Basic internet acces and word processing (minute taking)

@ Home: As my PC's monitor etc.

I wish to synchronise the two computer's hard drives, so i can store all my files onto my PC.

How do i go about doing this?

And are there any wires etc i will need to purchase to do this?

Thanks,
DK444

Tricky to very tricky on an old Toshiba satellite. Easiest way is to copy the files to a USB flash drive that will work on USB 1.1, copy the files, then reload them to the desktop. Methinks you will have lots of difficulties reliably doing a synchronization. The Packard Bell is one of the poorest, most difficult computers ever made when it comes to doing anything special.
If you don't have USB slots, use a Zip drive.

Zip drive? MUWAHAHAHAHAHA........i remember them!
Tedster, why do you say the Satellite would be tricky?
Surely a crossover cable (assuming RJ-45 on each pc) will do nicely?
I do agree that a flash drive would be simplest and best. I'm just curious as to why you said what you said.
I'm always on the lookout for enlightenment.

Is it not possible to synchronise it at all? cos that would be easiest for me.

at the very least i would like to use my laptop as my PC's monitor
