All Programs from Start Button

Hi,

This is my first post.
I can not remember what I did last, that made my "All Programs" fail to display
from the Start Button.

Has someone already solved this problem?

"fail to display" means what?
Your computer crashes when you try to open the All Programs menu item?
You do not see the All Programs menu item in the Start Menu?
Nothing happens when you move your mouse over the All Programs menu item?
A giant red dialog box comes up saying "Sorry, I failed to display All Programs. I'm going to go and sob for a while. Meanwhile, why don't you play Solitaire?"?

I have three nailed on fixes :unch:

1.Start/Run/Paste : regsvr32 /i shell32.dll Ok/Restart

2.Use Regedit to go to the following -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Value Name: NoStartMenuMorePrograms

Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)

Value Data: (0 = display programs, 1 = disable display)

3.Right click Start button/Properties/Change from Classic to Xp view.

There is another idea at the bottom of THIS page.

It's Back!

Thanks you Po' Girl, all your info worked out just perfect.

You are very good at this Puter stuff.

I think one of the stupid Registry programs wiped out the Strings, I will not use any of them again.
