Open Ports
I have a wireless Linksys router with ZoneAlarm. Using GRC'S Shields Up Test I show no open ports-STEALTH only. However, a trojan program I have checks the registry and files for trojans but also for open ports and its shows that some of the more common ports,135 and 139 for example, are open. Could someone explain this. Thank you.

It's your router that's making everything stealth. Once inside all the openings you have are visible since the scan is already inside your network.

Get DCOMbobulator from Gibson (www.grc.com)
See the explanation there about port 135. |
